Emergency Dentistry at Angeles Crest Dentistry

If you experience injury to a tooth, your jaw, or the surrounding soft tissue, you benefit from emergency dental care. Dental emergencies don’t just occur with trauma or falls. You may have an underlying infection that suddenly erupts with severe tooth pain or an abscess.

We are well equipped to provide emergency dentistry services and set aside time for same-day appointments whenever possible.

  • Traumatic Dental Injuries

If you crack or chip a tooth, collect any bits of your tooth. Your dentist can usually seal the tooth back together or repair a chip with dental bonding.

For patients who have a tooth knocked out, immediate treatment is paramount. Brush any dirt off the tooth and hold it back in your socket or between the gum and cheek if possible. Alternatively, store it in a glass of milk as you make your way to the office.

  • Tooth Pain

Tooth pain can indicate a serious infection, so you need emergency care. Rinse your mouth with salt water if you feel swelling or an abscess and then make your way to our office, where you may undergo a root canal, extraction, abscess draining, or deep gum cleaning.

  • Gum Emergencies

If you experience injury or damage to the soft tissue of your mouth, you require emergency dental care. Rinse with salt water and hold gauze at the site of bleeding on the way to the practice. Your gums may be irritated by having an object stuck between your teeth or due to gum disease and a subsequent abscess.

  • How Can I Reduce My Risk of Dental Emergencies?

Of course, accidents happen, and you can’t avoid all injuries, but you can take steps to reduce the likelihood of an emergency. Keep up with good oral hygiene and protect your mouth with proper mouth guards and equipment during sports play. Avoid chewing on hard objects, such as popcorn kernels or ice cubes.
